Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions Introduces the New HiPace 3400 Hybrid Bearing Turbopump
Pfeiffer expands its turbomolecular vacuum pump portfolio with the launch of the HiPace 3400, a new hybrid bearing turbopump that combines exceptional robustness with an outstanding performance-to-size ratio.
The HiPace 3400 is the most compact turbopump within the DN 320 flange size, making it ideal for setups where space is limited – for example larger R&D applications. It features a hybrid bearing design. This design combines a ceramic ball bearing at the forevacuum side and a permanent magnetic bearing at the high vacuum side, ensuring reliable rotor suspension and a long service life. Additionally, a newly engineered rotor design delivers high pumping speeds for light gases.
New cooling and heat management system
The HiPace 3400 introduces a completely redesigned cooling and heat conduction concept. As high gas throughput inevitably generates more heat due to gas compression and friction inside the pump, effective heat removal becomes critical to maintain stable operating conditions. The advanced thermal management of the HiPace 3400 efficiently dissipates this heat, keeping rotor and bearing temperatures within defined limits. This enables higher continuous gas throughput compared to previous HiPace models with conventional temperature management, while ensuring reliable operation, dimensional stability, and consistent pumping performance.
Thanks to its durable hybrid bearing design, efficient cooling system, and optimized power consumption, the HiPace 3400 offers low cost-of-ownership. The long service life of the bearing system and reduced maintenance requirements further minimize operating expenses. Designed for industrial and R&D applications
With its robustness, compact design, and high pumping performance, the HiPace 3400 is ideally suited for general industrial markets, R&D and science environments, large-area coating, and wear-protection applications. It offers a reliable solution wherever stable high vacuum and gas throughput are essential.
