There are recommended standard maintenance intervals. However, these may vary depending on the operating conditions and application. Together with our experienced experts, we can create a customized maintenance plan tailored to your needs.

Our repair services include fault analysis, detailed service reports, and the use of genuine Pfeiffer parts and tools – ensuring your equipment is restored to optimal condition.
Exchange
Our exchange program is a fast and efficient alternative to conventional maintenance or repair. You receive a fully overhauled, comparable product in exchange for your device that needs servicing, backed by a full 12-month warranty.1) Your returned vacuum pump will be refurbished and added to our exchange pool.
We offer two types of exchanges:
Maintenance exchange2)
This type of exchange is designed forplanned maintenance. You receive a comparable overhauled exchange product in advance and can continue operation until this replacement is installed. In the following four weeks, you can then send us your original vacuum pump for servicing. Your advantages:
- Receive an overhauled unit upfront and return your current one for servicing
- Avoid unnecessary downtime during scheduled maintenance
- Full 12-month warranty on the overhauled product
Standard exchange2)
The standard exchange is intended for unexpected vacuum pump failures. If your pump breaks down, we immediately support you with a fully refurbished replacement. You then have four weeks to send back your defective device.Your advantages:
- Get an overhauled unit right away and return your defective device
- Minimize downtime in case of breakdowns
- Full 12-month warranty on the replacement product

Maintenance level 1 – Replacement of operating fluids
Operating fluids in turbopumps must perform a wide range of tasks under challenging conditions to ensure reliable operation. To maintain optimal performance, Pfeiffer offers the replacement of these fluids as part of maintenance level 1.
Maintenance level 2 – Replacement of bearings
Due to their design and usage, wearing parts and especially bearings are subject to significant operational stress. To optimize maintenance costs, Pfeiffer provides targeted replacement of the bearing parts that are most exposed to wear. During maintenance level 2, the turbopump is partially disassembled and cleaned. This level also includes all tasks covered in maintenance level 1.
Maintenance level 3 – Replacement of all wearing parts
To ensure the turbopump continues to meet all operational requirements, maintenance level 3 offers a complete restoration to its original technical specifications. At this level, the vacuum pump is fully disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. All wearing parts are inspected and replaced. After a final testing, the pump is returned with a 12-month Pfeiffer warranty covering all service work performed.

Maintenance level 1 – Replacement of the tip seal
Over time, some components of a scroll vacuum pump may experience wear due to operating conditions. One such wearing part is the tip seal. To maintain optimal performance, the tip seals should be replaced approximately every 2.5 years. Pfeiffer offers tip seal replacement as part of maintenance level 1.
Maintenance level 2 (optional) – Replacement of critical wearing parts
The gas-ballast valve, tip seals, and O-rings can be replaced during maintenance level 2 if required. Due to the intelligent design of the vacuum pump, maintenance level 2 is easy to perform and can be carried out by the operator on site.
